enjoyed listening to your 2 husband's version of their view on the Men's sweater books. LOL
ReplyDeleteDear Jasmin and GiGi,
ReplyDeleteI don't know what I'd do without you two!! Thank you both so much for being there for me! I was diagnosed with breast cancer in August and am going through chemo before my surgery in January. My chemo is every third Thursday, so I try to upload your podcast before I head in for my infusion...then I knit socks and listen to you guys! Makes for a very pleasant morning! Thank you for the company and diversion!
Two questions: what did you say you were using for your 'waste yarn' when you do afterthought heels? Was it white crochet cotton?
Also, when you post those adorable photos of Genevieve on your blog, would you mention the sweater patterns that she models? They are all so lovely....but of course, not as lovely as she!
Thanks again for a wonderful podcast! I'm afraid I'm not participating in Halos for Hope this year, as I'm making a few of my own....but next year I definitely will be, as I now know how much those caps are appreciated!
xxoo

Hi Jasmin -- one of the (many) reasons I enjoy and keep coming back to your podcast is the high quality sound of each episode, even though you're clearly recording at home (near kitchens and babies!). I hope your recording setup isn't a trade secret, 'cause I'm interested in how you do it -- I'm exploring a Big Read-type podcast for my school, and would LOVE to produce at your quality level! Will you share?
ReplyDeleteI would love some more info on making after thought heel. I don't understand your 60 percent etc.

Hi, your podcast on TuneIn says "no stream available". Do the podcasts have an expiration date? TIA.
ReplyDeleteGigi, you have inspired me to knit preemie hats with my leftover sock yarn! Would you share your pattern?
ReplyDeleteHello! Thank you for your podcast. I have been listening since little shark bait was being incubated. I enjoy your reviews and direct answers to some of the questions you receive. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI am listening to podcast #359 and have point to make (Jasmin, you mentioned that if you ever make a mistake, your listeners would correct you, because people are lovely that way. haha). This isn't really a mistake, more a clarification. You ( Jasmin) were talking about Bainbridge Island and Gigi mentioned that it was near Alaska. I just want to point out that there are 1400 miles between Bainbridge Island and Juneau Alaska, even to where Alaska starts down the panhandle that runs along the border of BC ( British Columbia, Canada), it is 1100 miles, so really a pretty long way from Alaska. If you started to travel from the southern tip of California up to Bainbridge Island, it would be approximately 1290 miles, so Bainbridge Island is approximately halfway to Alaska. Just sayin'! The land masses are big up here! Jaybean on Ravelry
I would like more information on your child's sweater chest. I'm interested in getting one for each of my grandkids.
ReplyDeleteHi Jasmin and Gigi,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Karen and I live in the Chicagoland area. Love listening to your podcasts - I've learned a lot and appreciate the overall candor of your discussions.
Here's a question -
With all of the sweaters the two of you knit, do you ever use smaller needle sizes to make the ribbing of the bottom of the sweaters and the sleeve ribbing? I personally don't like that using the same needle size as the body often causes the sweater not to maintain its shape making the garment not worn as much as it should be. I find myself going down two or three sizes for the sleeve and bottom of the sweater ribbing.
Your thoughts?
Thanks.
Karen
Hi Jasmin & Gigi,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your wonderful podcast. I'm excited every week when I see it in my feed. Thanks to you, I've been consistently using citric acid soak and washing swatches FIRST before casting on. You have saved me countless headaches.
If past episodes, you mentioned your joy with using jewelry quality cable rings. I was looking on etsy and found the creator but have not found a tutorial. I've made cabled socks previously and found the cable motion very fiddley. I was hoping this would be better. Could you give me some tips and tricks before I invest in the equipment? Thanks for your time.
