East coast fans got to meet the face of Lo-Lo last weekend when Bar-Maids hit the Big Apple and debuted their full product line at Vogue Knitting Live. The ouuuuu's and ahhhhh's were a constant buzz at the Bar-Maids booth as customers got up close and personal. And though the Bar-Maids gals hit the town wearing their signature rosé colored glasses, it was the new scent, Juicy Pear, that intrigued New York fans. Fans were entertained by the sheer brilliance of those Bar-Maid gals when the internet failed. Quickly devising a plan which involved standing on a chair with the IPad register held high overhead and in a slightly northeast direction, connection was successful and sales commenced. Those rumors that New Yorkers are pushy and rude are simply not true. East Coast fans patiently waited their turn for the forty or more customers in front to make their purchases. And yes, disappointment was noted by a very different ahhhh...when Juicy Pear, Lavender Lil' and Hookah Girl sold out. Much lively banter was had by all and this cure got things moving.  If you missed Bar-Maids at Vogue Knitting Live last weekend, good news, now that they've had a taste of the big apple, Bar-Maids will be back for more.

In Stitches:(15:11)

Jasmin wore her Mondo Citrus cardigan out of Cascade Quatro, which is lighter weight than the one she knitted out of the more substantial Abstract Miro

Mother Knows Best:(16:06)

This week we answer a question about ripcords for afterthought heels. Jasmin mentions Lacis, Baroque Crochet Cotton and Aunt Lydia's Crochet Cotton. Jasmin mentioned her We Need a Little Christmas sock from Lollipop Yarn.

We also pondered another question about what to do with old swatches. Jasmin mentions her IKEA table. We mention the interview with Ysolda Teague. We ask for ideas.

When Knitting Attacks:(25:34)

The toe of a vanilla sock attacked Gigi.

Review:(27:07)

This week Genevieve reviews Hank and Gracie Save the Day by Stacy Klaus and illustrated by Molly Wade.

Genevieve also mentions the Phoebe stories (Phoebe's Birthday and Phoebe's Sweater) Jasmin mentions articles about screen time for children (NPR, CBS, Scientific American)

She also mentions Mouseton Abbey. Gigi is intrigued about the concept of using needles with wings to sew holes into zipper tape, to prepare them for being knitted into garments.

Jasmin mentions Alison Hyde.

Ravellenic Training:(40:00)

Week five of Ravellenic training, read directions and mark your size. If applicable, make sure you are on the team roster.

Thank you to Arlin from the Lost Geek podcast, and Coggie from the High Fiber Diet, for all their hard work.

Jasmin is thinking about finishing her Cassidy or her SPAKAL sweater for the Ravellenics, and Gigi wants to knit the Dr. Watson sweater.

And Sew On:(43:11)

Gigi's moulage class was more involved, and complicated than she expected, and she is frustrated.

  1. Thanks for a lively episode!

Would you consider donating premie hats for our babies?
